Everyone Who Plays The Great Game Of Golf Has Room For Improvement - 1/1/2008 |
Now for most of us, saying that we have "room for improvement" is an understatement. However, even Tiger Woods, as great as he is, has a lot of room to get better. The point is: everyone can improve. I have never met anyone who didn’t want to get better and the real enjoyment in golf comes from improving. The hard part about improving is the work that it takes to make significant progress. Sometimes it seems like you aren’t getting better or at the least aren’t improving at the rate that you had thought you should or hoped you would. The thing is, improving at golf is really just like improving at anything in life, you get out of it what you put into it. It just doesn’t always happen when you hope it would or think it should.
If you are going to improve at golf you have got to have a plan. A plan is a roadmap to achieving your goal of getting better. Your plan is a step by step approach that can turn a weakness in your game into a strength.
The first part of making a plan for improvement in your golf game is starting off with a good diagnosis of exactly where your game is. Every player who plays golf has strengths and weaknesses in their game, no matter what level they are at. Start analyzing your game and determine which parts of your game need the most work. Is it your putting, short game, driving, iron play, or it could be your course management or your mental game? An honest diagnosis of your ability is critical for your improvement, as is developing a plan for your improvement.
I have created a program designed to help players analyse, diagnose and develop a road map or practice plan for improvement. I call this my Player Development Program. Check it out, it's simple and it's free! Read more.....
