This year’s US Open will go down as one of the greatest of all time. For me personally to say that it was thrilling would be just an incredible understatement. As the tournament progressed, I knew I was witnessing something very special. Tiger’s win, considering the circumstances, will go down in the history of sports as an accomplishment that will be remembered as one of the gutsiest performances of all time.

The 1997 Masters, Tiger's first Masters win, was the highest rated golf telecast ever at 14. This year's US Open rated a 13.5, but considering the fact that there are so many more homes in 2008 than there were in 1997, millions more people watched Tiger win the 2008 US Open than any golf telecast in history.

Torrey Pines, the site of this year’s US Open, is in absolutely fantastic shape. I really think it's going to be one of the better sites in US Open history. The golf course is one that the players will all be somewhat familiar with, since the Buick Invitational is played at Torrey Pines every January.

Next week is the 2008 US Open and it has turned into one of the most anticipated golf tournaments in recent history. Many factors are playing into the hype that has become this year’s US Open, not the least of which is the state of Tiger‘s left knee.

Yesterday, at the Byron Nelson Classic, I spend the afternoon with about a 100 kids from The First Tee program of Dallas, Arlington and Ft. Worth. This is the 2nd such event that I have participated in thanks to my involvement with Fed Ex.

Well, that one didn’t exactly go like we had in mind. It is never great for anyone to finish second, especially Tiger, but that is just the way it goes sometimes. On a positive note I was pleased to see Tiger...

The first major of the year is just a little more than a week away and players are preparing different ways. Some players like to play the week before the majors and others like to practice. Players that feel it is best to play in preparation for Augusta are at the Shell Houston Open this week in Texas. While the golf course in Houston is quite easy when you compare it to Augusta National...

Tiger Wood’s theme is always the same. Even after winning 9 of his last 10 tournaments, nothing changes. All Tiger wants to know is, “How can I improve? What do I need to do today to be better than I was yesterday and what am I going to do tomorrow to be better than I am today?” It is an attitude that you only see with incredibly high achievers, in any facet of life. The key for Tiger is being able to do a good self-diagnosis after every golf tournament that he plays. He analyzing what needs improvement and he sets out to make any perceived weakness into strength.

There is so much more to the game of golf and winning golf tournaments then just hitting fairways. Having said that I know that Tiger didn’t play his best on Friday and Saturday at Dubai, but he sure did play better on Sunday. Tiger made 9 birdies on his last round, that is hard to believe, making birdie on half...
